Memories of 2023
The most beautiful things are not associated with money; they are memories and moments.
We are in the last days of 2023, and as expected, I am taking an inventory of all that happened throughout this year. I have also taken the liberty to compare last year to this year. My God! The growth, the glow, the journey!
As I scroll through my picture gallery, I am reminded of all the amazing people I met this year. The amazing things I did this year. I saw pictures that captured my stepping-out-of-comfort-zone moments.
Kudos Chi Chi, I am proud of you.
My gallery is filled with memories of loved ones and used-to-be loved ones. Sigh.
I found a picture of ladies I used to be acquaintances with; we were incredible together, but life happened. I hope they are having the best of life.
And then, these men who, at some point in my life when I was plagued with self-doubt, were the voices of self-confidence for me. I hope all their prayers are being answered.
I have learned not to hold on to anything or anyone (aside from my mummy). Tomorrow is not promised. So, as long as it lasts, I will love you and cherish you sometimes, even when it is not reciprocated.
We might not be together tomorrow, which is fine. But I don’t want to spend one second regretting I didn’t give my all.
So join me as I raise a glass to:
To those we lost to death, may they continue to have eternal rest.
To those we lost because of lack of communication, misaligned priorities, or simply life, may all our dreams come true.
We may not sit at the same table, but may we have tables to sit on.
Our paths may never cross again, but may they be filled with light to guide us so we don’t stumble and fall.
And even if we stumble and fall, may we find the courage to get back up and keep pursuing those dreams and making the world a better place, one human at a time.
Finally, to the friends and family in our corner, here is to life. Life to the fullest.
