The beginning of wisdom is to call things and people by their proper names_ Confucius

I watched a Video of Vusi T where he said ‘My name literally means to bring to life’ and I could tell he believed that with all his life.

It made me wonder what my names mean and if I actively identify with them.

Adaeze: The daughter of a King. First not second.

Anita: Full of Grace. But I prefer the second one which is Highly Favoured.

Chinwendu: God owns life. I personalized it, so it’s Chimnwendum which means God Owns my Life.

Put it all together and it is: The first daughter of a King who is highly favored and God owns her life.

What’s yours?

Christ said ‘You can not go to the Father unless through me’ and you are a Christian when you confess Christ as your personal Lord and Savior because how else will you access the Father? Ever wonder why most Christians start their prayers with In Jesus' name?

What’s in your name? What does your name mean?

If it’s good, I need you to walk into rooms bearing that in mind.

Recently, I was invited by a mentor to a place where it felt like I didn’t belong. I saw women wear neatly ironed suits and men come in like they owned the place. Me? I had my backpack slung over my shoulders and kept having conflicting thoughts on which direction to go or not because the place was too big and confusing.

In my mind, I could never imagine that I would be in such a place. A place where I would help Pastor Poju unplug his phone. Or hear men talk about business ideas and how the CBN governor needs to get back to them.

It was not a normal day in my life but I told myself that I belonged. If I wasn’t worthy, I wouldn’t be sharing a table with these men. I belonged.

Chinwendu, nwachinaemelu.

I am my Father’s daughter. He said I would stand before Kings and not men of low rank. He said Gentiles will come to my light and Kings to the rising of my brightness. So it doesn’t matter your religion, gender, political affiliation, tribe, race, etc you will come to my light.

There is power in a name. Today, I have resolved to walk and work with the power in my name and the power in the name of my God.

I am the first daughter of a King, the one who is highly favored, the one whose life belongs to God.

Things are expected and compelled to work in my favor. Men are expected and compelled to favor me.

I ask you again, what does your name mean and in whose name do you exercise authority?

The confidence that comes with this revelation is exciting and intoxicating. You should try it.

Until next time, don’t forget in whose name you come.

I come in the name of Jesus, my Lord.
