Who is Mr J?

It’s a breezy evening under the mango tree that is in the middle of the administrative block, this was the favorite spot for students who enjoy reading outside. Asides from the airy nature, the menace of the mosquitos is not felt at all (why did Noah preserve them?)
A colleague of mine just came back from church and I asked her if she went to a certain pastor’s church to which she scoffed and sighed at. I was not offended by her actions because I would do the same. The pastor in question does not have an iota of “pastor traits” in him.
For the sake of this article let’s call him Mr. J.
Mr. J is a non-tutorial staff who doubles as a Pastor, his work as a non-tutorial staff is ensuring that the whole school environment is safe for students, instead of doing what he is employed to do, Mr. J found a new hobby.
I would describe Mr. J as a 50-something-year old man, probably in his mid-50s who has the tendency of being a pedophile and enjoys watching younger women have their baths. Mr. J’s newfound hobby is disgusting, to say the least.
So, my course mates and I were reading, the question I asked triggered a dominoes effect as everyone had a tale to tell, recounting their embarrassing experience with Mr. J.
The sad part was that Mr. J has a daughter who sat about 6 meters away from us and I am sure she had all we said. This we did not realize until we were done with our “gist”
As she stood up to go greet her father who seemed to be coming back from a church program, a depressing sigh left my lips, I felt sad for her and was irritated at her father.
Imagine listening to other females recount the embarrassing things your father had to do just to get a peek at their naked bodies.
Then Agnes spoke up, Agnes is a newlywed who can’t wait to be done with school so she can go on the exciting honeymoon she is always talking about with her husband but because of the final qualifying exams, they had to put their plans on hold.
Agnes: Mr. J is a stupid man, can you imagine this man was looking at my vagina as I was easing myself?
Me, Ada, and Ure: Are you serious (in unison)
Agnes: Stay there na, he did that last week because of that I stopped greeting him or responding to his greeting.
Me: I thought you went to his church?
Agnes: please stop thinking, that man is not fit to be a pastor, he is a disgrace.
Ada and Ure: *nod in agreement*
Me: But I feel for his daughter...
Ure: *abruptly cuts in* may my father not disgrace me o
Everyone in unison: Amen.
You might ask how he can see us ease ourselves when it’s a female-only school. Well, the hostel which has been around since 1932 (I kid you not) needs rehabilitation, the rooms are small and stuffy lacking proper ventilation, the bathrooms are soo dirty and the toilets are clogged with feces that have been there for God knows how long.
How do we survive?
We cleaned the toilets and bathrooms to the best of our capabilities and bought small buckets that we improvised as toilets and whenever we were done with our “business” the waste product was thrown into the toilet and flushed as no one was courageous enough to sit on the WC bowl.
For bathing, we made do with our back yard and this was the entry point for Mr. J, he would wake up early just to watch us have our bath, at first we were oblivious of it but when we realized his crafty nature we started taking turns to the lookout. While one person was having her bath, the other person looked out for Mr. J.
Why have we not reported to the school authorities?
First off, we shouldn’t be bathing there and lastly, the school is on strike.
We have two options now;
Option A: Go back to our bathrooms that have skin infections written all over them.
Option B: Keep looking out for Mr. J.
(All man for himself and God for us all)
If you are a father reading this, please know you are heroes to your children, don’t embarrass them with improper behaviors.
Shout out to every self-respecting father out there, you all are the real MVPs.
If you are a pastor reading this, know you are the light most people look up to. If you embarrass yourself, you are embarrassing the church. Please stop, if you have any impulsive behaviors that are not of Christ, consider stepping out of the church so as not to deceive people.
